US packaging conglomerate Mauser Packaging Solutions (Oak Brook, Illinois; www.mauserpackaging.com) said it has acquired Italy’s Global Tank (Magnago; www.globaltank.it), which reconditions industrial packaging.
The deal, handled through Mauser’s Italian joint venture Maider NCG (Villastellone; www.maiderncg.com), expands the parent company’s footprint in Italy and is expected to strengthen its global presence in reconditioning. Mauser services intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), HDPE and steel drums, recycles HDPE, and manufactures new IBCs and plastic packaging.
The former owners of Global Tank, Alfonso Albanese and Carmela Cecere join Mauser’s operations management team, while José Da Fonseca will lead the merged sales team in Italy for new and reconditioned packaging.
Mauser acquired another Italian reconditioning business last year (see Plasteurope.com of 14.09.2020).
