The European PVC Window Profiles and Related Building Products Association (EPPA, Brussels / Belgium; www.eppa-profiles.eu) has announced the election of Patrick Seitz (from Aluplast) as its new president. He succeeds Andreas Hartleif (Veka), who has led the association, with a short interruption, since 2011. Carsten Heuer (Rehau) takes over the position of deputy.
At this year’s members’ meeting held jointly by EPPA with the RAL Quality Association for Plastic Window Profile Systems (GKFP) and the Quality Association for Plastic Products (QKE), Yann de Benazé from the French association of plastic profile manufacturers, Le Syndicat national de l'extrusion plastique profilés et compounds (SNEP), Johann Brandstetter (Internorm), Gerald Feigenbutz (GKFP) and Alexander Franke (Profine) were also appointed to the board.
EPPA has existed as an independent trade association since 2012 and is now a permanent fixture within the industry network for the European institutions in Brussels, Hartleif said to the member companies. Among other things, EPPA is involved in the EU initiative Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA). The new chairman said he sees significant challenges for the profile sector, particularly in the further promotion of recycling in France, Germany, and Poland.
Due to the tight supply situation, the window profile association called for the lifting of forces majeures on PVC in April (see Plasteurope.com of 06.04.2021).
