Plastic additives and dyes manufacturer Milliken (Spartanburg, South Carolina / USA; www.millikenchemical.com) has acquired peroxide and blowing agent masterbatch manufacturer Zebra-Chem (Bad Bentheim / Germany; www.zebra-chem.com). Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
According to Milliken, peroxide masterbatches make it possible to incorporate up to 100% recycled content into new plastics. “Our combined skillsets will facilitate faster and more customised solutions that achieve our customers’ sustainability goals,” said Wim Van de Velde, vice president of Milliken’s chemical division for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Speciality compounder Zebra-Chem produces additive and blowing agent masterbatches for polyvinyl chloride, polyolefins as well as engineering thermoplastics, made possible by producing extremely small microgranules.
