Belgian chemical group Solvay (Brussels; www.solvay.com) has signed distribution agreements with German distributor Biesterfeld Plastic (Hamburg; www.biesterfeld.com) – for its thermoplastic fluoropolymer “Solef” PVDF and semi-crystalline polymer “Halar” ECTFE – and with German compounder Albis (Hamburg; www.albis.com) – for its polyacrylamide “Ixef” PARA. The agreement will be effective 1 April 2021 onward, and will apply to Europe (excluding Italy), the Middle East and Africa.
The two material ranges to be distributed by Biesterfeld Plastic are suited for chemical processing and semiconductor industries. The portfolio being distributed by Albis, however, is widely used in E&E, healthcare and automotive sectors.
In June 2020, Biesterfeld had signed an agreement with Solvay to distribute the latter’s high-performance polymers in Europe (see Plasteurope.com of 29.06.2020).
