The German branch of PlasticsEurope (Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticseurope.org), the association of plastics producers, has a new CEO: Ingemar Bühler took the helm of the trade association on 1 January 2021. He succeeds Ingo Sartorius, who had held the position on an interim basis since May 2020 after the sudden death of long-time CEO Rüdiger Baunemann (see Plasteurope.com of 22.04.2020). Sartorius will remain with the association in his previous role as managing director and head of the “People and Environment” division.
With Bühler, PlasticsEurope Deutschland (Frankfurt; www.plasticseurope.org) is relying on a leader with sound corporate experience in economically and politically challenging times. After starting his career as a consultant for political strategy and communication, the political scientist worked for Bayer (Leverkusen / Germany; www.bayer.com) in a leading position for 12 years. Most recently, he was the head of public affairs and sustainability for Bayer CropScience (Monheim / Germany; www.cropscience.bayer.com), the agricultural division of the Bayer group.
