Austrian injection moulding machinery manufacturer Engel (Schwertberg; www.engelglobal.com) has created Engel Used Machinery to sell its refurbished processing units. The subsidiary was launched at the end of 2020 and is based in Prague / Czech Republic.

General manager of the new division is Leopold Praher, who has been with Engel for 30 years and will initially also retain responsibility for the Austrian company’s global elastomer and thermoset business. Engel Used Machinery will primarily target Eastern and Central European markets because of the particularly strong demand for used machinery in that region, a spokesperson said.

In addition to Engel’s injection moulding machinery, the subsidiary will also buy back used robots from the “Engel” series, made by its parent, recondition them, and offer them on the used market.
