In its third takeover of the year, Swedish 3D printing and injection moulding specialist Prototal (Jönköping; www.prototal.se) has acquired 3TAdditive Manufacturing Polymers (3T AMP, Newbury, Berkshire / UK; www.3tamp.com), boosting its presence in the UK. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition is Prototal’s first outside Scandinavia, which the company said marks its intention to extend its presence and develop the polymer market in the UK and globally.
3T AMP holds quality certifications for aerospace and medical production and is also approved by many of the UK’s leading OEMs for supply of serial components. The company was part of AM Global Holding (Starnberg / Germany; www.amg-h.com), which separated the UK polymer arm earlier this year to focus on metal manufacturing through 3T Additive Manufacturing.
Prototal’s other purchases this year were Swedish injection moulder Tojos Plast (Malmö; www.tojos.se) in July (see Plasteurope.com of 17.07.2020) and Damvig (Taastrup / Denmark; www.damvig.dk) in January (see Plasteurope.com of 15.01.2020).
