German plastics and chemicals broker Stockmeier (Bielefeld; www.stockmeier.de) has announced the procurement of a majority of shares in Belgium-based distributor Innochem (Meerhout; www.innochem.de). Terms of the deal were not released.
“We are very pleased that Innochem NV is now part of our group of companies and that Stockmeier will expand its portfolio in the specialty market,” noted Peter Stockmeier, the company’s managing partner. Jan Fias, general manager at Innochem, said, “The incorporation of our activities in the bigger structure of the Stockmeier Group will allow us to offer our suppliers and customers a pan-European approach without compromising on our flexibility.”
The deal followed a similar move at the beginning of the year when the company secured a majority holding in Swiss distributor Kemtan (Reinach; www.kemtan.ch). The family-owned German company said it has more than 1,800 employees and operates from 50 locations worldwide.
