TRADE FAIRS
“Plastpol” in Kielce and “Plast Eurasia” in Istanbul to open doors despite coronavirus crisis / Measures taken to protect visitors
While other plastics trade fairs are being cancelled, postponed or switched to virtual formats due to the pandemic, trade fair organisers in Poland and Turkey are sticking to their annual industry events this autumn and winter while complying with the required hygiene- and protective measures.

Poland’s 24th “Plastpol” (www.plastpol.com) will take place on 6-8 October 2020 in Kielce. The trade fair for plastics and rubber processing in Central and Eastern Europe was originally planned for 19-22 May (see Plasteurope.com of 30.03.2020) before postponement by organiser Targi Kielce (Kielce / Poland; www.targikielce.pl). As a showcase for the latest technologies in global industry and in view of the global economic situation, exhibitions today are an even more valuable development impetus for making it possible to return to normal business operations after the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, according to Targi Kielce. The precautionary measures for visitors are listed here.
Highlights of this year's show include the “BioPlastics” zone, a presentation platform for biodegradable, compostable and bio-based products, while the “PlastechInfo” seminar held on the second day of the fair to promote the advantages of plastics to help improve the public’s perception of the materials.
“Plast Eurasia” set for December
Social distancing was never an issue at previous trade shows. |
The 30th edition of the Turkish international plastics show "Plast Eurasia” (www.plasteurasia.com) is scheduled for 2-5 December 2020 in Istanbul. Tickets are available online through the website. The industry event is jointly organised by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions (Istanbul; www.tuyap.com.tr) and the Turkish plastics industry association Pagev (Istanbul; www.pagev.org.tr). As Tüyap noted, its prepared for the “new normal”. With digital solutions and applications, the show is said to offer all exhibitors and participants a “contact-free expo experience”.
In addition, the organiser points out that Tüyap is the first trade fair company to have received the “Covid-19 Safe Service Certificate” for meeting the hygiene and infection prevention requirements of the Turkish Standards Institute (TSI). A "Covid Manual" should help to comply with the specifications.
