German masterbatch manufacturer Lifocolor (Lichtenfels; www.lifocolor.com) has announced the introduction of an anti-scratch additive that prevents the white build-up caused by other such materials, especially on dark surfaces. “Lifoslip D 20/112 PP” targets polypropylene housing and lining applications in the cosmetics and packaging industries, the company reported.
The material is said to be suitable for production processes with PP-H, PP-C and PP-R. Designed to be added in doses (let-down ratio) of 2-3%, it offers improved thermal stability and good organoleptic qualities, the suppler noted. The material has EU and FDA approval, acts immediately after demoulding, and remains effective for several months, the company added.
