China’s Zhenhua Petrochemical (Dongying, Shandong) is planning a polypropylene production facility with a capacity of 1m t/y at its Dongying complex, according to Honeywell Technology (Des Plaines, Illinois / USA; www.uop.com), which is licensing its “UOP C3 Oleflex” PDH process to the company. A start-up date was not released.

Honeywell said its UOP plant construction unit is also providing services, equipment, catalysts and adsorbents for the plant. Zhenhua Petrochemical is a joint venture between Zhenhua Import and Export Corporation and Dongying Yatong Petrochemical (Dongying, Shandong; http://en.yatoil.com).

This year, PP capacity in China is projected to reach almost 29m t/y (see Plasteurope.com of 11.08.2020).
