Automotive supplier to build new plant in Serbia

According to local media reports, German plastics processor and automotive supplier Samvardhana Motherson Peguform (SMP, Bötzingen; www.smp-automotive.com) plans to construct a new production facility in Cuprija / Serbia that will employ around 450 people as of June 2021. The group, part of India-based Samvardhana Motherson (SMG, Noida, Uttar Pradesh; www.motherson.com) since 2011, did not provide additional details in response to a request from Plasteurope.com.
SMP, formerly Peguform, is the largest business unit within the Samvardhana Motherson group, which is active in nine countries with around 13,500 employees at 36 logistics and production sites. The company reported sales of EUR 3.1 bn in the 2019/2020 fiscal year with the production of components such as instrument panels, assembled cockpits, centre consoles and interior trim. Cezary Zawadzinski is the CEO.
