DELFINGEN
Acquisition of Schlemmer's Europe and Africa activities / Products include PA 6 cable protection
Electrical cable producer Delfingen (Anteuil / France; www.delfingen.com) said it has acquired the European and African operations of Schlemmer (Aschheim / Germany; www.schlemmer.com), which makes cable protection and injection-moulded parts for the automotive industry. The deal was funded mainly with debt raised from Delfingen’s financial partners, according to a company statement, which did not reveal monetary terms.

Delfingen said the purchase covers turnover of around EUR 100m, 1,000 employees and Schlemmer’s five plants in Germany, Morocco, Romania, Russia and Tunisia; the latter two are joint ventures. “This acquisition enables Delfingen to consolidate its market share in Europe, to strengthen its proximity to German car manufacturers and equipment suppliers, and to pool research and development efforts to support the transition of the automotive sector towards hybrid/electric engines,” the company noted.

Schlemmer filed for insolvency in December 2019. Company activities in Asia were sold to its Chinese partner Fengmai-Ningbo Huaxiang Group (see Plasteurope.com of 24.07.2020).
