Irish car seat specialist Adient (Dublin; www.adient.com) has announced it would close its Adient Seating plant in Rosny-sur-Seine / France by the end of 2022. The site was created to produce entire seats for Renault’s “Zoe” and “Micra” models exclusively. Around 170 employees will be affected by the closure.
The Renault group was hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic and in June 2020 announced it would shut down automotive production at its Flins / France site “earlier than planned.” The exact time frame was, however, not yet fixed.
Adient currently has 214 facilities worldwide. The company has been suffering from the weakened automotive industry (see Plasteurope.com of 03.05.2019).
