Arkema (Colombes / France; www.arkema.com) is expanding its adhesives division, around core company Bostik, with the acquisition of adhesive powder and polymer coating specialist Fixatti (Nazareth / Belgium; www.fixatti.com). The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2020, subject to regulatory approval.
Fixatti – formed at the end of 2018 from the two companies Schaetti and Dakota – operates two plants in Europe and China, with a total of 180 employees. Its most recent turnover amounted to around EUR 55m.
The Belgian company’s portfolio mainly includes hot-melt adhesives for industrial applications in the construction, coating, battery, automotive and textile printing industries. In addition, Fixatti inherited capacities from Schaetti for copolyamide and copolyester compounding and grinding, including cold grinding, while Dakota contributed additional specialities in the epoxy resin and polyurethane segments.
