Polyolefin and chemical group Borealis (Vienna / Austria; www.borealisgroup.com) has announced that Erik van Praet is the company’s next vice president Innovation & Technology since 1 April 2020. He succeeded Maurits van Tol, who left the group in October 2019.
Lucrèce Foufopoulos, Borealis’ executive VP Polyolefins, Innovation and Circular Economy, said van Praet has been “a mastermind and key pillar of our ‘Value Creation through Innovation’ strategy, which remains a key differentiator of the Borealis polyolefin strategy.”
Van Praet started his career at Borealis in 1995 as a development engineer in Zwijndrecht / Belgium. Most recently, he worked for more than a decade as Director Strategy and Portfolio. He is also a board member of the Dutch Polymer Institute (Eindhoven / The Netherlands; www.polymers.nl).
