During the coronavirus pandemic, conditions for plastics producers and processors are changing faster and more radically than ever before. While the following might not rock the industry when compared to current world events, a recent change in the editorial team of Plasteurope.com’s sister publication Kunststoff Information – KI (Bad Homburg / Germany; www.kiweb.de) is still worth a few lines here: Starting 1 May 2020, Peter Reinhardt has taken over as editor in chief. He succeeds Daniel Stricker, who left KI in December 2019 at his own request to seek out new challenges (see Plasteurope.com of 18.12.2019).

Reinhardt is a seasoned trade journalist with a diploma in mechanical engineering and has experience as a toolmaker from his time working for a plastics processor serving the automotive sector. For about 10 years he was responsible for Devicemed, a trade journal for manufacturers of medical technology belonging to the Vogel Communications Group (Würzburg / Germany; www.devicemed.de). In 2017, the German association of business media Deutsche Fachpresse distinguished Devicemed as “Trade journal of the year”.

Commenting on his mission at KI, Reinhardt said, “I look forward to returning to my professional roots. My goal is to offer readers an orientation in these eventful times, helping them make good decisions for their business.”
