Reorganisation of leadership team from 1 May 2020 / Three executives leaving
Trinseo (Berwyn, Pennsylvania / USA; www.trinseo.com) is changing its leadership team with three executives leaving the company. The US-based manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber said the move will allow it to implement a flatter organisation to streamline decision-making, with the global business unit leaders reporting directly to the CEO.

Consequently, Trinseo has suspended its search for a senior vice president, commercial, which it announced last October with the news it was eliminating two divisional president roles (see Plasteurope.com of 14.10.2019). “In a difficult economic environment, we continue to look for opportunities to drive greater focus on business process optimisation and efficiency,” said president and CEO Frank Bozich.
Effective 1 May 2020, Francesca Reverberi will be VP of engineered materials and synthetic rubber, Nicolas Joly will be VP of plastics and feedstocks and Rüdiger Schmitz will be VP of latex binders.
Tim Stedman, senior vice president of strategy and corporate development, has been named special advisor as of 1 May, prior to leaving Trinseo on 31 October 2020. He will be succeeded by Andre Lanning, who has been named vice president of strategy, corporate development and marketing communications.
Rainer Schewe has taken up the position of VP of supply chain services with effect from 1 April. He replaces Jeff Denton, who has been appointed as special advisor until his departure from the company on 1 August 2020.
In addition, Catherine Keenan, vice president of public affairs, sustainability, and environment, health, and safety is stepping down as of 1 May with her responsibilities being redistributed among the executive leadership team.
In March, Trinseo launched a consultation process in Germany about the future of its styrene plant in Böhlen and polybutadiene rubber plant in Schkopau – both plants are operating in the red and much below their nameplate capacities (see Plasteurope.com of 17.04.2020). The company has also in April, for the second month running, dropped its prices for all polystyrene grades in Europe (see Plasteurope.com of 03.04.2020).
