Virginia Janssens appointed managing director of producers association

Plastics producers association PlasticsEurope (Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticseurope.org) has announced that Virginia Janssens will become managing director on 16 March 2020. Janssens said, “With purpose, openness and sense of responsibility, I look forward to representing an industry that is in full innovation mode addressing plastics value chain challenges. PlasticsEurope will reflect this industry transformation and accelerate sustainable solutions from, for and on behalf of its members and partners. We are at the crossroads of a new age for plastics with clear opportunities to contribute positively to climate and society.”
She has been managing director of the European Organization for Packaging and the Environment (Europen, Brussels; www.europen-packaging.eu) since 2012 and has experience working in the Brussels area as a public affairs and PR consultant for clients from the environment, food, chemical and energy industries. Janssens holds master’s degrees in political and social sciences from KU Leuven and in intercultural management from the ICHEC Brussels Management School.
