Adrian Whitfield joins as CEO
Dutch packaging producer Weener Plastics (Ede; www.wppg.com) announced that Adrian Whitfield has taken over as CEO as of 27 January 2020. He succeeds Anthonie Zoomers, who served as interim CEO since the departure of Roel Zeevat – see Plasteurope.com of 03.09.2019. Commenting on Whitfield’s appointment, Niall Wall, chairman of Weener Plastics’ supervisory board, said, “Given his track-record, he brings the perfect combination of skill set and experience to execute on strategic and operational initiatives to give new momentum to Weener Plastics’ profitable growth and to further strengthen the company’s position as market leader for innovative packaging solutions.”
Whitfield previously held chief executive roles with Wilmcote Holdings (London / UK; www.wilmcoteplc.com) and Synthomer (Harlow / UK; www.synthomer.com). He was also founding CEO of DS Smith’s (London; www.dssmith.com) plastics division.
