“Swiss Plastics Expo” (www.swissplastics-expo.ch) is struggling with declining exhibitor and visitor numbers. The sixth edition of the trade fair, which was held in Lucerne / Switzerland from 21 to 23 January 2020, attracted 4,100 visitors, as organiser Messe Luzern (www.messeluzern.ch) reports. This corresponds to a decline of 7% compared with the previous Swiss Plastics Expo in 2017 – see Plasteurope.com of 03.02.2017. The number of exhibitors even dropped 11% to 260. The trade fair had already recorded fewer visitors (-12%) and exhibitors (-11%) in 2017.
As at the globally leading “K 2019” trade fair (www.messe-duesseldorf.de) in Düsseldorf / Germany – see Plasteurope.com of 24.10.2019 – sustainability was the main topic. “At Swiss Plastics Expo, we set out to provide visitors with orientation and space for discussions while showing them the latest findings and solutions,” exhibition director René Ziswiler said prior to the start of the fair.
