Debottlenecking of antioxidants plant in Italy

BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) plans to expand the production capacity of its antioxidant “Irganox 1520L" by 20% at its site in Pontecchio Marconi / Italy. Irganox 1520L is a thermo-oxidative stabiliser, used in solution polymerised, emulsion polymerised and thermoplastic elastomers, plastics, adhesives, sealants, oils and lubricants.
The German group said the Pontecchio Marconi expansion will meet increasing demand for plastic additives. Start-up is planned for Q1 2021.
