JEC WORLD 2020
International composites trade fair to be held in March in Paris
The next “JEC World 2020” composites trade fair will take place from 3-5 March 2020 in Paris / France. Organiser JEC Group (Paris; www.jeccomposites.com) is expecting more than 43,000 visitors from over 110 countries and around 1,400 exhibitors at the event.

The event will cover composites in the automotive, aerospace, sports and health sectors, with each day focused on one of the three industries. On 3 March, the focus is on aerospace, with sustainability being a key theme and including issues such as aircraft weight reduction, material recyclability and waste reduction. Hervé Gilibert (ArianeGroup) will be the keynote speaker for a session moderated by space journalist Sarah Cruddas.
The automotive industry will be central on 4 March, when topics such as cost-performance ratios and multi-material solutions will be discussed. Alan Banks (Ford) is the keynote presenter in a session moderated by Dale Brosius (IACMI).
JEC World’s third and last day will highlight the sports and health sectors and concern ratios between weight, lightness and safety, rigidity optimisation and individualisation for athletes’ needs. Moderated by Max Thouin (Hexcel), the session will have tennis player Stéphane Houdet (Handisport) as the keynote speaker. The sessions will be held on the “Agora” stage, which will also hold a special keynote on 4 March from French “Flyboard” inventor Franky Zapata.
This year the “JEC Innovation Awards” will again recognise innovative composite projects and collaborations between players in the value chain. In the past 15 years, the awards have celebrated 177 projects. The start-up competition “Startup Booster” will also take place, with finalists having their innovations showcased at JEC World’s “Startup Hub”.
