Candi Plastic Recycling (Sollenau / Austria; www.candi-plastic.com) has installed its seventh recycling line from Starlinger (Vienna / Austria; www.starlinger.com). The new “recoSTAR dynamic 105 C-Vac” line was set up in July at the company’s Calex subsidiary located in Satu Nou de Jos / Romania.

The new line is the second recoSTAR dynamic 105 C-Vac line at the Calex facility and brings the number of Starlinger lines operating here to four – see Plasteurope.com of 02.11.2016. The four lines at Calex process approximately 600-700 t of post-consumer waste monthly, comprising primarily films and polyethylene or polypropylene pipes. However, Candi intends to focus on big bag recycling at Calex with a new washing line that is scheduled to go into operation in December 2019.

The first recoSTAR dynamic 105 C-Vac line installed at the site processes big bags while the second, newer line is used to recycle coloured, transparent and printed LDPE packaging films. The lines are equipped with different filter systems, which provides the company with flexibility when processing material with contaminants such as aluminium, sand and paper, according to Gheorghe Campan, managing director at Candi.

The recycling group operates three other Starlinger lines at its headquarters in Austria. The machines in operation here process plastics waste from industrial production, such as reject parts or production scrap. Starlinger’s recoSTAR dynamic line is available in six sizes that process hygroscopic, wet and/or pre-ground and foamed scrap at rates from 150-2600 kg/hr.
