Logoplaste (Cascais / Portugal; www.logoplaste.com) has signed an agreement to buy a majority stake in PET container manufacturer Masterchem (Zielona Góra / Poland; www.mch.com.pl), with the Polish company’s founding family retaining a “significant” minority share and remaining active in management of the business. Pending regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to close in Q1 2020.
Founded 25 years ago, the Polish company produces a variety of PET preforms and packaging for sectors including cosmetics, household chemicals, food products and pharmaceuticals, with customers across Europe. About the combination of the two companies, Logoplaste CEO Gerardo Chiaia said, “Masterchem and its team have been able to deliver tremendous growth year-after-year by focusing on its customers and constantly innovating and expanding its product range which includes bottles, jars and closures.”
The Portuguese packaging manufacturer also expanded in the UK earlier this year, when it acquired a bottle production plant in Wrexham – see Plasteurope.com of 23.05.2019.
