Swedish industrial group Trelleborg’s (Trelleborg; www.trelleborg.com) sealing solutions business is to acquire PTFE seals manufacturer Tritec Seal (Fenton, Michigan / USA; www.tritec-ps.com). Trelleborg said the acquisition, which is expected to be finalised in Q4 2019, strengthens its product portfolio, primarily in rotary seals, and increases its manufacturing capacity.

Tritec Seal registered US sales of approximately SEK 300m (EUR 28.4m) in 2018. In June 2019, the company acquired Race-Tec (Eastleigh / UK; www.race-tec.com), a manufacturer of high-performance sealing solutions and vibration isolation components, as well as its sister company Blue Diamond (Southampton / UK), which is an engineering company and plastic components supplier. Trelleborg recorded sales of SEK 34 bn (EUR 3.2 bn) in 2018 and an EBIT of SEK 4.7 bn.
