Epsan (Bursa / Turkey; www.epsan.com.tr) has added six high-performance polyamide compounds to its portfolio. “Eplamid 6 FX0”, “Eplamid GX0 25”, “Eplamid 6 GX0 30” and “Eplamid 66 GX0 25” were developed in accordance with the EU standard EN 45545-2 for fire safety of railway components, while the company’s “Eplamid 6 GFR 30” and “Eplamid GV0 30” products are suitable for application in buses in accordance with UN/ECE R118. The company’s research and innovation manager, Ecem Yıldırım, said the new materials are free of both halogens and phosphate and allow for a surface finish within EU specifications.

The Turkish company was founded in 1976. In 2018, it increased compounding capacity to 45,000 t/y – see Plasteurope.com of 31.05.2018 – and is looking to develop new products for the public transport sector.
