As a cost-savings measure, German consumer goods manufacturer Keeeper (Stemwede; www.keeeper.de) plans to cut up to 70 jobs in production, tool manufacturing and maintenance at its site in Stemwede. Part of the affected activities are to be transferred to the company’s plant in Bydgoszcz / Poland, a spokesperson told Plasteurope.com. The sales, marketing, product management and development departments in Stemwede are to be expanded. At present, the local workforce comprises around 200 employees.

The company’s headquarters with all core operations will remain in Stemwede, and sales for Western and Central Europe will continue to be managed from this location. However, the details of the restructuring are still in the planning stage, according to the spokesperson.

At the end of May 2019, German industrial holding company Mutares (Munich; www.mutares.de) bought Keeeper, after the manufacturer had recorded a decline in sales for two years in a row. Revenues were at EUR 65m in 2018.
