PTT Global Chemical (Bangkok / Thailand; www.pttgcgroup.com) and plastic packaging group Alpla (Hard / Austria; www.alpla.com) are to build a joint plastics recycling plant in Map Ta Phut / Thailand. The plant will be Thailand’s first pilot project to manufacture high quality rPET and rHDPE, said the companies, which revealed in July that they were studying the project – see Plasteurope.com of 08.07.2019. The new joint venture company will be named Envicco.
Speaking at the signing ceremony for the JV agreement earlier this month, Supattanapong Punmeechaow, president and CEO of PTT Global, said the plastics recycling plant is part of PTT’s long-term circular economy plan. He added that it reflects the company’s responsibility to reduce the use of single-use plastics.
