After successfully establishing a China-based decorative PVC film joint venture in June 2019 with trading partner Citiking (Shanghai / China; www.citiking.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 11.06.2019 – German films manufacturer Renolit (Worms; www.renolit.com) is now creating a JV in India for the production of geomembranes for construction and civil engineering. The plant will be located at a Renolit distribution site in Pune, Maharashtra, and is planned to be operational as of 1 January 2021.
Renolit and its trading partner RMG Polyvinyl India (Delhi; www.rmgpoly.com) signed a contract on 11 July 2019 in Worms. The Renolit RMG India JV will be entered into the Indian commercial register within the next weeks.
“India is becoming increasingly important for Renolit. With this joint venture, we are investing in geomembrane production in Pune to correspondingly expand our range of products on the Indian market,” said Renolit board member Karsten Jänicke. PVC sealing membranes are used among others in the construction of tunnels and other subterranean building structures. The German company currently produces geomembranes only in Spain.
