OEM supplier inaugurates second production hall in Czech Republic

Automotive OEM supplier Novares (Paris / France; www.novaresteam.com), formerly known as Mecaplast, has inaugurated a second production hall at its site in Janovice / Czech Republic. The new 9,600 m² facility, part of the group’s German OEMs and tier 1 business unit, will house activities transferred from Novares’ site in Zavar / Slovakia and will be dedicated to producing components for carmaker PSA. The site already supplies Skoda and Faurecia.
With the expansion begun in April 2018 and completed a year later, Novares has increased the Czech site’s production space to 16,500 m². Parallel to this, the workforce, currently numbering 480 people, is planned to be increased to 530 by the end of 2019. Novares is majority owned by private equity investor Equistone Partners Europe with investment bank Bpifrance as second largest shareholder. The OEM supplier with annual sales of EUR 1.4 bn is present in 22 countries, where it operates 47 manufacturing facilities.
