Plastics producers association PlasticsEurope Deutschland (Frankfurt / Germany; www.plasticseurope.org) has announced that as of 1 July 2019, Matthias Müller is the new head of its information and communications activities. Müller completed his training as an editor at Evonik Industries (Essen / Germany; www.evonik.com) and has previously worked for Renolit (Worms / Germany; www.renolit.com). In addition to public relations, he wants to boost the association’s various online portals as well as social media and networking with stakeholders. “The current public debate surrounding the topic of plastics presents a major challenge and offers excellent points of contact to highlight the diverse and sustainable applications of our material, thereby contributing to an objective discussion,” said Müller.
The position of head of communications opened up when Michael Herrmann left PlasticsEurope Deutschland in September 2018. The Frankfurt-based association’s managing director, Rüdiger Baunemann, had taken over as acting head of the department in the interim – see Plasteurope.com of 07.09.2018.
PlasticsEurope Deutschland is part of European organisation PlasticsEurope (Brussels / Belgium). Frankfurt is the headquarters of the association’s Central Europe region, which includes Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. Other headquarters for regions in which the European association is active are located in London / UK, Madrid / Spain, Milan / Italy and Paris / France.
