Pipe producer Polyplastic (Moscow / Russia; www.polyplastic.ru) has expanded its plant in Podolsk / Russia, around 30 km south of Moscow, with an investment worth almost EUR 1.5m. The five additional installed lines, for manufacturing multilayer pressure pipes for gas and water, bring the company's total number of extrusion lines to 30.
There are around 900 employees in Podolsk, where smooth and corrugated polyethylene pipes with diameters ranging from 10-3000 mm are produced. With the additional lines, 45 new employees will be added.
The facility's processing capacity is set to rise from currently around 60,000 t to 80,000 t. In 2018, the company extruded about 50,000 t of PE into pipes. According to Polyplastic, this makes up one fifth of production in Russia.
