Logistics provider expands plastics storage for Dutch subsidiary
Sievert Handel Transporte (Lengerich / Germany; www.sievert-transporte.de) has tripled the storage and logistics space at its subsidiary Nederlandse Transport Maatschappij’s (Hardenberg / The Netherlands; www.ntm.info). Sievert commissioned a 12,000 m² warehouse in Itterbeck / Germany, which it has assigned to the Hardenberg site in the Netherlands – it is located about 15 km away across the border.
“By expanding our capacity, we can process significantly larger volumes and also offer more services along our customers’ value chain,” said managing director Rui Macedo. Sievert fulfils several upstream activities for plastics producers and distributors, such as homogenisation and import processing. Customs clearance is now also part of its portfolio.

The new warehouse has space for 9,000 pallets and is used as a buffer for plastics coming from European suppliers or imported from overseas. Transport to customers takes place by silo truck, for which Sievert has equipped the logistics area with two refilling facilities that can automatically load trucks with materials delivered in bags, big bags or octabins.
Sievert owns 16 locations in Germany and two in the Netherlands. With around 500 employees, the company generated sales of around EUR 103m in 2018.
