Swissplast (Sargans / Switzerland; www.swissplast.com), a company that thermoforms technical components, is acquiring CAP-Vakuform (Diedorf / Germany; www.cap-vakuform.eu) for an undisclosed sum. The German company specialises in the production of thermoformed plastic products.
Swissplast has announced that all employees at the location will be taken over. This acquisition follows the purchase of Bavarian company AL-KO Plast (AL-KO, Ichenhausen / Germany) in summer of 2018.
CAP-Vakuform produces packaging, transport blisters and workpiece carriers for automated manufacturing processes as well as for logistics, industry and trade applications. One area of focus is the production of disposable plastic blisters for process automation. Christian Petrovic, who founded the company together with Petra Petrovic in 2007, will be taking a seat on the Swissplast board of directors.
With this acquisition, the Swiss company is aiming to diversify its product portfolio to include the production of workpiece carriers in particular. Swissplast has around 190 employees and, in addition to Diedorf, runs production at its Sargans and Ichenhausen locations as well as at Gotha / Germany. The owner-managed company produces thermoformed parts in engineering plastics up to a maximum forming area of 3000 x 1500 x 620 mm.
