The "Plastics Recycling Show Europe" (PRSE, www.prseventeurope.com) is growing. The annual event was held in Amsterdam from 10-11 April 2019 at the "RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre" (www.rai.nl), and it witnessed 3,250 attendees over the two days – a nearly 35% increase compared to the previous edition. The number of exhibitors also jumped by 20% to 120 companies and associations.
Organisers Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE, Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticsrecyclers.eu) and Crain Communications (Detroit, Michigan / USA; www.crain.com) attribute the success to the show's unique concept in Europe. The two-day event brought together the whole value chain of the plastics industry, including recyclers, machinery manufacturers, raw material producers, converters, waste management firms and, increasingly, brand owners.
On top of the busy exhibition area, the conference was also well attended. PRSE opened with a keynote from Kęstutis Sadauskas, the European Commission's director of Circular Economy and Green Growth, DG Environment. The opening session also saw Kunststoff Information's (KI) editor-in-chief Daniel Stricker speak about the current state of plastics recycling markets and the many opportunities for the industry.
The next PRSE will take place on 25 and 26 March 2020. It will again be held at the RAI in Amsterdam.
