Third plant near Shanghai to begin production before end of year / Turnover in China to nearly double
Almost two years after the start of construction – see Plasteurope.com of 16.05.2017 – German automotive OEM Boge Rubber & Plastics (Damme; www.boge-rubber-plastics.com) has announced the imminent start-up of production at its third plant in China. The additional capacity in Wuxi, Jiangsu, near Shanghai should generate annual sales of EUR 100m. Together with the turnover of its two plants in the Qingpu district of Shanghai and Zhuzhou, Hunan, Boge’s Chinese activities will then result in sales totalling more than EUR 250m per year.

At present, the car components supplier employs more than 1,200 people in China, making up around 20% of the company's total sales – EUR 829m in 2017. Boge claims to be the largest supplier of lightweight plastic pedal systems in China.
The Qingpu plant produces rubber/metal components such as noise and vibration dampers for the chassis and powertrain as well as other plastic components for the car industry. In Zhuzhou, the workforce manufactures products for vibration control technology for the automotive industry as well as acoustic insulation components, primarily for trucks and buses.
Worldwide, the company currently has ten plants with more than 4,000 employees. Apart from its German facilities in Damme, Simmern and Bonn and its Chinese sites, it also operates production facilities in Trnava / Slovakia, Fontenay / France, Sorocaba / Brazil, Dingley / Australia and Hebron, Kentucky / USA.
