KEP Europe ceases business activities

With effect from 31 December 2018, Korea Engineering Plastics’ (KEP, Seoul / South Korea; www.kepital.com/en) subsidiary KEP Europe, formerly based in Wiesbaden / Germany, has ceased operations. This was confirmed by a Celanese (Dallas, Texas / USA; www.celanese.com) spokesperson in response to an enquiry from Plasteurope.com. Celanese has a 50% stake in the South Korean POM producer.
"Business activities in Germany/Europe will, according to our information, be continued by Korea Engineering Plastics," said the message from Germany. The reasons for the closure were not given. Included in the product portfolio are PA 6, PA 6.6, PPA and PBT for applications in the automotive, IT, home electronics and industrial sectors.
