Masterbatches from post-consumer recycled PP / First customer projects in packaging sector
Masterbatch specialist Gabriel-Chemie (Gumpoldskirchen / Austria; www.gabriel-chemie.com) is introducing a range of colours based on post-consumer recycled (PCR) polypropylene. The company said it can already offer a large variety of colours, such as lighter and effect colours. A combination with laser marking additives is also possible. The first customer projects are in now progress for the packaging sector. Further projects to use PET and HDPE from PCR as the carrier base are being developed.
In the middle of 2018, the company started to build a Russian production facility in Vorsino on its 27,000 m² site southwest of Moscow. The plant, with a capacity of 2,000 t/y, is to be built in four phases – see Plasteurope.com of 13.07.2018.
