Belgian distributor Ultrapolymers (Lommel; www.ultrapolymers.com) is distributing Ravago's (Arendonk / Belgium; www.ravago.com) halogen-free, flame-retardant "Scolefin 52M20FR" and "54H20FR" polypropylene compounds in Europe. The compounds are said to combine high chemical resistance with good mechanical properties and short cooling times. The injection moulding grades meet the flammability rating UL 94 V-0 at 1.6 mm thickness. Flame-retardant properties are also retained when used with recyclate.
The Scolefin compounds are suited for applications in the E&E, construction and railways sectors, as well as applications where halogen-free, flame-retardant materials are used. In addition to standard versions, there are UV-stabilised and coloured grades available.
Ravago recently completed the acquisition of DowDuPont's European insulation materials business – see Plasteurope.com of 07.02.2019. The Belgian distribution and compounding group has eleven plants. It manufactures and distributes building and construction products in Europe, Turkey and the CIS markets (www.ravagobcs.com).
