Industrial packaging products specialist Greif (Delaware, Ohio / USA; www.greif.com) has upgraded its intermediate bulk container (IBC) facility at its San Roque site in Cadiz / Spain. Greif said the multi-million euro investment includes a fully automated line and a new fully automated warehouse for the storage of IBCs.
The upgraded plant is now equipped to produce Greif’s full range of “Gcube” IBC solutions. The company said production of the Gcube IBCs has already started and is expected to reach up to 150,000 units per year. The facility is well placed to deliver products to the olive oil industry, one of the most important economies in the region, it noted.
Joaquim Duarte, Greif general manager for Iberia, said the investment “will allow us to better serve our customers and local market demands in southern Spain as well as the North African markets of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.”
Greif currently has 13 IBC facilities worldwide. Nine of these are in the EMEA region.
