Production of containers for household applications moves to France and Spain
Richter Kunststofftechnik (Rikutec, Altenkirchen / Germany; www.rikutec.de), a specialist for large-volume blow-moulded articles, wants to focus more strongly on competencies when it comes to their European production plants. As a result, the Habitat business unit is transferring the production of water and oil containers for household applications from Altenkirchen to the company’s plants in Drulingen / France and Lantarón / Spain.

This measure enables the company to improve its operational and logistical processes, said Bodo Richter, CEO and owner of the Rikutec Group (Bad Honnef / Germany). “At the same time, the groundwork was laid to more effectively organise the utilisation of existing resources and capacities in Germany,” he added. “We want to continue to grow, step by step, and we are convinced this decision comes with many synergies that will allow us to continue developing business areas.”
Rikutec acquired the two blow moulding plants in France and Spain two years ago when it purchased Sotralentz-Habitat – see Plasteurope.com of 06.01.2017. Richter Kunststofftechnik, founded in 1986, is part of the Rikutec Group, which also operates sales offices in Asia and the US and has a workforce of more than 200.
