Plastics trade fair to be held in Istanbul in December

The next "Plast Eurasia" (www.plasteurasia.com) trade fair will run from 5-8 December 2018 in Istanbul / Turkey. The 28th edition of the event is organised by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions (Istanbul; www.tuyap.com.tr) in cooperation with Turkish plastics industry association Pagev (Istanbul; www.pagev.org.tr).
According to the organisers, the plastics sector is one of the fastest growing industries in Turkey. In 2017, Turkish plastics processing amounted to 9.6m t worth USD 36.8 bn. Data from Turkish packaging manufacturers association Ambalaj Sanayicileri Derneği (ASD, Istanbul; www.ambalaj.org.tr) shows that plastics make up about 40% of all packaging materials production in Turkey – see Plasteurope.com of 15.08.2018. Turkish plastic packaging production amounted to around 3.8m t in 2017.
At Plast Eurasia 2017, the number of visitors jumped to 53,919, which was 35% more than at the previous event – see Plasteurope.com of 08.01.2018. For this year's edition, around 1,100 exhibitors and more than 60,000 visitors are expected over the four days. The scope of the trade fair includes chemicals and raw materials, plastics machinery and auxiliaries, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, moulds and recycling.
