Biodegradable and biobased plastics producer Bio-Fed (Cologne / Germany; www.bio-fed.com) has had its "MVera GP1012" biocompound approved for the "OK biodegradable SOIL" label from certifier TÜV Austria Belgium (Kraainem / Belgium; www.tuv-at.be), formerly Vinçotte. The label meets the European standard for compostable packaging EN 13432.
MVera GP1012 is based on a biodegradable polyester that can be processed using injection moulding and used in agriculture and horticulture applications as well as for coffee capsules. The material can also be coloured with the EN 13432-certified "AF-Eco" biomasterbatch from Bio-Fed's affiliate AF-Color (Niederzissen / Germany; www.af-color.com). Bio-Fed is a subsidiary of Akro-Plastic (Niederzissen / Germany; www.akro-plastic.com), belonging to K.D. Feddersen (Hamburg / Germany; www.kdfeddersen.com).
