AOC ALIANCYS
Swiss-US composites merger formed / Bert Bakker named CEO for Europe
Resins producers AOC (Collierville, Tennessee / USA; www.aoc-resins.com) and Aliancys (Schaffhausen / Switzerland; www.aliancys.com) have formed a combined company named AOC Aliancys. Following the completed acquisition of AOC by CVC Capital Partners (London / UK; www.cvc.com) on 1 August, the UK investment company that also controls Aliancys is pooling its activities. The two resin producers say AOC Aliancys will be a leading global supplier of polyester and vinyl ester resins, gel coats and other products for the composites industry.
AOC has six production plants mainly focused in North America, while Aliancys caters to Europe. The new company's headquarters are being set up at AOC in Collierville and Aliancys' headquarters in Schaffhausen will manage the European business. Joe Salley, who led US chemical company Milliken (Spartanburg, South Carolina; www.milliken.com) until October 2016, will be CEO. Former AOC CEO Fred Norman will be CEO for the Americas business and Bert Bakker, the previous CEO of Aliancys, will be CEO for Europe and Asia.
