Sale of Americas business complete
Italian investor Management & Capitali (M&C, Milan; www.mecinv.com), owner of German BOPP film manufacturer Treofan Holdings (Raunheim; www.treofan.com), has completed the sale of Treofan’s Americas business after the US and Mexican regulatory authorities cleared the deal with buyer CCL Industries (Toronto, Ontario / Canada; www.cclind.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 13.03.2018.
The transaction’s closing date is 2 July 2018, the day when Treofan America, the sales company based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina / USA, as well as the production company in Zacapu / Mexico, which is held via Trespaphan Mexico Holdings, will transfer into CCL’s ownership. Both companies will trade under the brand name "Innovia". Around 300 people are employed at the two sites.
Treofan said it would now fully concentrate on further developing its European production sites and continuing to grow its business, particularly in the speciality films market.
