Global exports fall in first nine months of 2017 / China top supplier / VDMA figures released ahead of "Plastindia" trade fair
Ahead of the upcoming “Plastindia 2018” (www.plastindia2018.plastindia.org) trade fair running from 7-12 February 2018 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat / India, the German association for plastics and rubber machinery VDMA Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen (KuG, Frankfurt; https://kug.vdma.org) has released data on exports to India.
The figures reveal that the value of German plastics and rubber machinery exports to India for the period January to September 2017 fell by 4.1% year on year to EUR 129.2m.

In 2016, global exports to India reached a total of EUR 749.2m, an increase of 20.5% on the previous year. China was the leading supplier to Indian plastics and rubber processors, accounting for 30.8% of total exports, followed by Germany with 23.8%, Japan with 7.7%, Taiwan with 7.6% and Italy with 7.4%.
Germany’s share of world exports in 2016 was worth EUR 178.6m, which was 29.9% higher than in 2015 when it was EUR 137.5m. China’s exports reached EUR 230.5m in 2016, up 33.3% on 2015 when they were worth EUR 172.9m.
