SIRAP-GEMA
Two businesses bought from Reynolds Group / Plants added in UK and Spain
Italy’s Sirap-Gema (Verolanuova; www.sirapgroup.com) has boosted its presence in the rigid food packaging market with the acquisition of two affiliates of Reynolds Group Holdings (Auckland / New Zealand; www.reynoldsgroupholdings.com). Both the companies – Kama Europe and Reynolds Food Packaging Spain – produce rigid plastic thermoformed food packaging trays. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to complete by mid-January 2018, were not disclosed.

Kama Europe has a production plant in Sedgefield / UK, and employs about 110 people. Turnover in 2016 was approximately EUR 27.9m. Reynolds Food Packaging Spain has a production facility in Puig-reig, near Barcelona, and around 60 employees. The company generated a turnover of about EUR 11.4m in 2016.

Sirap-Gema has a strategic goal of growing its business in the rigid food packaging market. This latest acquisition follows the purchase of Italian thermoformer Rosa Plast Due (Bovezzo; www.rosaplast.com) in July 2016 – see Plasteurope.com of 18.07.2016.
