German plastics processor Röchling (Mannheim; www.roechling.com) is investing EUR 5m in an expansion at subsidiary Röchling Maywo's (Bad Grönenbach / Germany; www.maywo.de) site in Bad Grönenbach. Up to 25 jobs will be created with the capacity expansion and the construction of a new logistics hall. The company's premises will be expanded by 5,000 m², and construction is scheduled to be complete by the start of 2018.
Röchling Maywo, a manufacturer of vacuum-formable plastic sheets and films, has belonged to the Röchling group since 2012. Since then, Maywo's sales have risen by 64%. Currently, it has 120 employees and produces single-layer and co-extruded polystyrene and ABS sheets used to manufacture ceiling or wall cladding for trains and coaches. The electronics industry also uses workpiece carriers made of electrically conductive plastics that are required for computer chips and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
In addition, Röchling's automotive division celebrated the official opening of its factory in Shenyang, Liaoning / China recently. On the nearly 30,000 m² site, there are now 16,000 m² of buildings. Nearly half of the area is intended for production. With 11 injection moulding machines, 81 employees have been manufacturing wheel arch liners, underfloor panels, active grille shutter systems, air filters and controllable air guides for nearby BMW Brilliance Automobile's assembly since January 2017.
