EU gives go-ahead for merger with Amiantit / Pipe manufacturing activities in Europe
On 4 August 2017, the European Commission gave formal approval for Hobas (Klagenfurt / Austria; www.hobas.com), Flowtite (Sandefjord / Norway; www.flowtite.com) and Amiantit (Dammam / Saudi Arabia; www.amiantit.com) to merge their European activities (see Plasteurope.com of 23.12.2016). By the end of August, the companies will be brought together under a holding company in which Hobas' owner Wietersdorfer (Klagenfurt; www.wietersdorfer.com) and Amiantit each hold 50% of the shares.

The joint venture, headquartered in Klagenfurt, will start operations at the beginning of September.
